Hakone, Japan
During a three month artist in residency at Nikolai Bergmann atelier in Hakone national park Touborg immersed himself in creating a new exhibition inspired by the nature of the park. The exhibition contained a mix of different expressions ranging from of welded sculptures, paintings and drawings using materials as steel, wood and canvas as the medium.

Creating metal sculptures was a mean to encapsulates the Japanese notion of “wabi-sabi” which is an aesthetic philosophy that treasures the beauty of impermanence. As the art decay with rust the viewer will experience a new and altered expression every time the artwork is visited.
