Group Exhibition 2026

DREAMSCAPES was a group exhibition featuring Krista Rosenkilde, Michael Kvium, Jeppe Hein, Farshad Farzankia, Eske Touborg, Frederik Næblerød, Marielle Gothberg, Simona Popovic, Mathias Malling Mortensen, Asger Gjerdevik, Maria Torp and Thomas Juul-Jensen.

Orchestrated by Albert Contemporary and curated by Frederik Hove, DREAMSCAPES explored a dialogue between the Danish Golden Age and contemporary art. Taking Johan Thomas Lundbye’s iconic painting En Dansk Kyst (A Danish Coast) as its point of departure, each participating artist was invited to reinterpret the work through their own artistic practice.

KVINDE I LANDSKAB depicts a blurred female figure whose body appears to dissolve into a dreamlike landscape. Drawing on Lundbye’s landscapes and preparatory sketches, Touborg incorporates a loose, sketch-like line to outline the figure, creating a tension between the recognisable and the abstract.

Rooted in graffiti, Touborg’s earlier practice was strongly grounded in photorealism. PORTRÆT AF ALBERTE, however, marks a shift towards a more intuitive and expressive approach to portraiture, where the subject is not simply reproduced but interpreted through abstraction.
